Cookie Policy

1. What this is about
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. Local storage and session storage work in a similar way and keep information directly in the browser. Legally, both are treated the same: any access to information on your device requires consent unless it is strictly necessary for the service you have requested.
On cogswell.de we deliberately use as little as possible. We use no tracking cookies, no analytics and no advertising networks. What we store serves the operation of the site or your own settings.
2. Legal bases
- Strictly necessary storage: § 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG (strictly necessary), together with our legitimate interest in a secure, working service under Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR.
- Contract-related storage (for example during an order or payment): Art. 6 (1)(b) GDPR.
- Everything else: only with your consent under § 25 (1) TDDDG and Art. 6 (1)(a) GDPR, revocable at any time with effect for the future.
3. Strictly necessary
These entries are set without consent because the website would otherwise not work as intended. They cannot be deselected in the cookie banner.

4. AI features, statistics and marketing
The category AI features is active but voluntary: only with your consent does the search send your description to the language model Claude by Anthropic to give you a suggested solution. We do not set an additional cookie for this; your decision is stored in cogswell_consent_v1. Details in the privacy policy, Section 10.4.
We currently use no statistics, analytics or marketing technologies. There is no Google Analytics, no Meta Pixel, no LinkedIn Insight Tag and no remarketing.

If you activate statistics or marketing in the banner, only your consent is stored for now and no corresponding services are loaded. As soon as we use such a tool, we will update this page and ask for your consent again.
5. Change or withdraw your consent
You can adjust your choice at any time, without giving reasons and with effect for the future. The lawfulness of processing carried out until then remains unaffected.
6. Deleting cookies in your browser
Independently of our banner, you can manage cookies and stored data directly in your browser. Note: if you delete cogswell_consent_v1, the banner will appear again on your next visit, and saved settings such as language or accessibility will be lost.
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Delete browsing data
- Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions
You can also set your browser to block cookies in general or delete them when you close it. Strictly necessary functions such as form protection or login may then be limited.
7. Your rights
You have the right of access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection (Art. 21 GDPR). You can withdraw any consent you have given at any time under Art. 7 (3) GDPR. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.
An informal email to Email is sufficient.
8. Changes and contact
We update this policy as soon as the technologies we use or the legal requirements change. The current version is always available on this page.
